The world knows Rhode Island interior and furniture designer Debra Folz for her surreal, high-concept designs. Her features unique details like layered offset glass that creates the look of a prism and light bronze metal hardware so fluid it looks like thread or satin ribbon.
In addition to designing furniture, Debra teaches part-time at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her draws inspiration from fashion and textiles. She explains, “The bedroom collection was designed around hardware describing the loop of a stitch and the tie of a thread. It’s a simple gesture in keeping with the purpose of the piece, which is to hold your clothes.”
Finishes like marble and pale, greyed woodwork add a serene effect to a room and work with a variety of styles and designs.
